So yeah...

Um...well there was little to no interest in getting together this summer.

It's all good...we all get busy.

However...there are some our classmates who could really use some love and contact right now. Anyone of us...if we are on your hearts and minds...you should call, email etc. There are a lot of people going through stuff where they could really use a friend and a smile.

Pull out your yearbook...the one you got from the reunion...just last year...and make someone's day today.

This summer's event.....

The event for this summer is The Hood River Railroad's Murder Mystery Dinner Train. We are looking at July or August-with the actual date TBA in the next couple weeks. It will cost approximately $75-$80 a person and will be on a Saturday night. We will have either a Saturday lunch or a Sunday breakfast as well at a local restaurant.
If you would like to see more info about the train you can visit the Hood River Railroad website. Just click the link (it's the word website).
Questions or comments can be left here or at our class email.

Happy New Year!

Here we are 2008! WOW! How did we get here? Do most of us really turn 39 or 40 this year? Do you remember when we thought that people our current age were old? Heck some of our parents were this old when we graduated and many of our class have kids who graduated in the last couple years or will graduate in the next couple. I don't know about you...but I don't feel old. I don't feel like I have began the downhill decent.

Being together last summer was SO much fun and brought back so many great memories from our high school years! Many of you expressed an interest in doing some activity once a year and so a committee has been formed to come up with ideas, brainstorm, discuss pros and cons of certain ideas and then present an idea for us to do every summer. Participation is optional and will always have one event that will "cost" and one event that will be like meeting in a restaurant. An example is like a Saturday event that ends at 4pm and then a meet and greet at a restaurant that is buy your own. Your level of participation is up to you. One thing that some of the committee has already discussed is having events other places than The Dalles- like Portland or Hood River or somewhere in the valley. We have discussed camping trips and things like that that would be for the whole family. One idea being tossed around for our 30th is to take a cruise.

We are always happy to accept suggestions so feel free to email us. Please also send in some pics now and then so we can add them to our picture slide show here on the blog!

WAHTONKA EAGLES ROCK! Sorry....couldn't help myself.

As we come to end...

Of another year, take a look back, and smile. Yes, we had hard times, but, even better...we had great times.

The one memory I shall cherish of 2007 was our reunion. Old friendships brought to the fore. How exciting, and nerve wracking, meeting again after, at a minimum, ten years, and some, twenty. How wonderful to know that those I knew, and loved(yeah, I am mushy)are the same, and even better than before. Thank you all for such wonderful memories.

Now, I look forward to 2008....and the prospect of keeping in touch, and doing more things with those who live in the "respective" area. Hey, if you are in Oregon, its respective.

And now I wish you all......

And the countdown continues....

Eight days left. Seven more for shopping. I shudder to even think of going out in the crowded stores, where people seem to have forgotten manners. Simple things like, "Please", "Thank you", "Excuse me" are lost in this world of "I want this, and I want it now". Or the screams of children not getting their way, tired of being dragged around by moms and dads who are trying so desperately to out-do everyone they know, racking up credit card bills that will take years to pay off.

Now, having said that.....

One of my favorite memories was from the late 70's, where my older brother and I were able to wander the mall in Spokane by ourselves, given money to shop for our parents, and younger brother. Freedom for Jay and I. My mom's parting words...."Now, Jay, follow your sister, she won't get you lost."...LOL... He had no sense of direction. It was my first sense of empowerment, of responsibility, knowing that "I", the little sister, had power over my big bro....silly of me, but it was great.

As expected, Jay did try to get us lost, at which point, I stopped him, turned a full 180, and walked straight to the car....LOL

Some many memories, so little time.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Kwanza and whatever else I have missed. Looking forward to hearing some others.
